Prayer for our Pastors and Church Leaders

Father, who is like you - majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them.

Thank you, Father, for raising up these pastors - Jim, Valerie and Diane - and leaders - including all teachers, ministry chairs and administrative chairs - as servants for your people. Thank you that they have made you their first priority and have chosen to love you with all their hearts, souls, strength and minds.

Father, I ask that your Spirit rest on them today - the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD - and they will delight in the fear of the LORD. Give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that they may know you better. I pray that the eyes of their hearts may be enlightened so they may know the hope to which you have called them, the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints, and your incomparably great power toward them.

I pray also that whenever they open their mouths, words would be given to them so that they will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.

I ask you today to bless their families with your presence, your power, your joy and your peace. Teach them your ways and give them undivided hearts, that they may fear your name.

Father, forgive them in any area where they have failed you. You have made them ministers of reconciliation. Make them quick to repent and help them be reconciled to anyone they may have offended.

Father, you are their hiding place. Protect them from trouble and surround them with songs of deliverance.

All praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength belong to our God for ever and ever. AMEN
